The Varenne (in the upper reaches also: Morin ) is an approx. 60 km long river in northern France that runs through the regions of Normandy and Pays de la Loire . On its way, the Varenne crosses the Orne and Mayenne departments .

The Varenne rises in the municipality of Landigou , drains mainly in a south-westerly and south-westerly direction, crosses large parts of the Normandie-Maine Regional Nature Park and flows after about 60 km at Vaux in the municipality of Ambrières-les-Vallées as a right tributary in the barrage reservoir de Saint-Fraimbault-de-Prières in the Mayenne .
