Le Châtellier is located about 55 kilometers south-southwest of Caen . Le Châtellier is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Chapelle-au-Moine in the north, Messei in the northeast, Saint-André-de-Messei in the east and northeast, Banvou in the east and southeast, Saint-Bômer-les-Forges in the south and west as well Saint-Clair-de-Halouze to the west.
