Écouché-les-Vallees is a French commune with 2,169 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Orne in the region of Normandy . It is part of the Argentan arrondissement and the canton of Magny-le-Désert .

Écouché-les-Vallées was created as Commune nouvelle as part of a territorial reform on January 1, 2016 through the merger of six former municipalities, which are now districts of Écouché-les-Vallées (so-called Communes déléguées ). The once independent communes of Batilly , La Courbe , Écouché , Loucé , Saint-Ouen-sur-Maire and Serans were merged . Écouché acts as the “superordinate district” as the administrative center. On January 1, 2018, Fontenai-sur-Orne was also incorporated.

Écouché-les-Vallées is located about eight kilometers west-southwest of Argentan on the Orne , into which the Cance and Udon flow here, and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Monts-sur-Orne in the north, Sarceaux in the east, Fleuré in the southeast, Avoine , Joué -du-Plaine , Sevrai and Saint-Brice-sous-Rânes in the south, Lougé-sur-Maire in the west and south-west, Putanges-le-Lac in the west and north-west and Giel-Courteilles in the north-west.
