Location of the association of municipalities in the Normandy region

The Argentan Intercom is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the department of Orne in the region of Normandy . It was founded on November 17, 2016 and comprises 49 parishes. The administrative headquarters are located in Argentan .

Historical development

The community association was created with effect from January 1, 2017 through the merger of the predecessor organizations

• Argentan Intercom (before 2017) ,
• Communauté de communes des Coubes de l'Orne and
• Communauté de communes du Pays du Haras du Pin .

Despite having the same name as the previous organization, it is a start-up with a different legal personality. At the same time, 14 communities joined together to form the Commune nouvelle Gouffern en Auge .

With effect from January 1, 2018, the municipalities of Goulet , Montgaroult and Sentilly merged to form the Commune nouvelle Monts-sur-Orne . In addition, the municipality of Fontenai-sur-Orne was incorporated into Écouché-les-Vallées . This reduced the number of member communities from 52 to 49.
