La Ferte Mace is a French commune with 5,237 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Orne in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Alençon and to the cantons of La Ferté-Macé and Magny-le-Désert . The inhabitants are called Fertois .
It was created with effect from January 12, 2016 as Commune nouvelle through the merger of the previous municipality of La Ferté-Macé with the neighboring municipality of Antoigny . The new church is officially written without a hyphen ! Only the integrated municipality of Antoigny has the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality .
