geography

Durcet is ten kilometers southeast of Flers . The Gine , a tributary of the Rouvre , flows through the community. The village is on a hill.

etymology

The name is derived from the stony subsoil.

Culture and sights

In the crypt of the church, which was rebuilt in the 20th century, are the remains of the Margravine of Motteville ( Seine-Maritime department ) and the Anzeray family . The existence of the castle has been documented since the Middle Ages. Today it is a red brick building surrounded by a small park.

The Saint-Côme festival takes place every last Saturday in September . There you present your animals and taste the local specialty: the “little goose”. The Printemps de Durcet , a festival of poets and singers , also takes place every year.
