Putanges-le-Lac is a French commune with 2,181 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Orne in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Argentan and the canton of Athis-de-l'Orne .
It was created with effect from January 1, 2016 as Commune nouvelle through the amalgamation of the previous municipalities of Chênedouit , La Forêt-Auvray , La Fresnaye-au-Sauvage , Ménil-Jean , Putanges-Pont-Écrepin , Rabodanges , Les Rotours , Saint-Aubert -sur-Orne and Sainte-Croix-sur-Orne , which in the new commune have the status of a Commune déléguée . The administrative headquarters are in Putanges-Pont-Écrepin.
