Rabodanges is a commune Déléguée in the French community Putanges-le-Lac with 181 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Orne in the region of Normandy .
history
- The name of the parish was "Culley-sur-Orne" until 1650
- The name "Rabodanges" is a modification of "Rabodinghes", which is located in the Artois near Saint-Omer . This was the home of the Culley family who settled in Normandy in the 15th century . King Louis XIV created the title of "Marquis de Rabodanges" for the Lord of Rabodanges. The last member of the family died in 1792.
With effect from January 1, 2016, the previous municipalities of Chênedouit , La Forêt-Auvray , La Fresnaye-au-Sauvage , Ménil-Jean , Putanges-Pont-Écrepin , Rabodanges , Les Rotours , Saint-Aubert-sur-Orne and Sainte- Croix-sur-Orne amalgamated to a Commune nouvelle with the name Putanges-le-Lac and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Putanges-Pont-Écrepin. The municipality of Rabodanges belonged to the Arrondissement of Argentan and the canton of Athis-de-l'Orne .
