Sainte-Opportune is a French commune with 244 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Orne department in the Normandy region (before 2016 Basse-Normandie ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Argentan and the canton of Athis-de-l'Orne ( Briouze until 2015 ).

Sainte-Opportune is about 29 kilometers west-southwest of Argentan city center . Sainte-Opportune is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Athis-Val de Rouvre in the north and northwest, Sainte-Honorine-la-Guillaume in the northeast, Craménil in the east, Briouze in the southeast, Bellou-en-Houlme in the south and Durcet in the west.
