Échalou is a French municipality with 389 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Orne in the region Normandy (before 2016 Basse-Normandie ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Argentan and the canton of La Ferté-Macé ( Messei until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Échaluviens .

geography

Échalou is about 40 kilometers west of Argentan . Échalou is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Landigou in the north, Bellou-en-Houlme in the east and northeast, Saires-la-Verrerie in the south, Saint-André-de-Messei in the southwest and Messei in the west.
