Town Hall (Mairie) of Velluire

Velluire is a former French community and today's commune Déléguée in Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it is part of the arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton of Fontenay-le-Comte . It was merged with Le Poiré-sur-Velluire to form the Commune nouvelle Les Velluire-sur-Vendée with effect from January 1, 2019 . The inhabitants are called Velluirois .

geography

Velluire is located about 30 kilometers west-northwest of Niort and about 50 kilometers southeast of La Roche-sur-Yon on the Vendée , which borders the Commune déléguée in the west. Velluire is surrounded by the towns of Le Poiré-sur-Velluire in the north and west, Chaix in the north-east, Montreuil in the east, Vix in the south-east, Le Gué-de-Velluire in the south and south-west and La Taillée in the west and south-west.
