The Verbandsgemeinde Ringen was an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional body in the district of Ahrweiler in the administrative district of Koblenz ( Rhineland-Palatinate ). It existed from 1968 to 1974, the administrative seat was in Ringen .

history

The Verbandsgemeinde was formed on October 1, 1968 as part of the Rhineland-Palatinate functional and territorial reform from the office of Ringen . However, since the association municipalities should have at least 7,500 inhabitants according to the association regulations introduced at the same time, but the association municipality Ringen only reached 6,742 (December 31, 1969), the incorporation into the city of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler was planned by the state government - with the exception of Kalenborn . The municipalities welcomed this step in contrast to the city, which the plan u. a. because of the different structures of the city and the communities belonging to the Ringen association. After years of discussion, a law was passed in 1973, according to which on March 16, 1974 all municipalities - with the exception of Kalenborn , which was assigned to the Verbandsgemeinde Altenahr - were amalgamated to form the new municipality Grafschaft .
