The Publisher Edition Dittmer is a German publisher who in the 1970s authors of the alternative scene represented and later issues of alternative medicine turned.

history

After his father Hans Dittmer had been journalistic activities (1893-1959), founded Hans Otfried Dittmer , a Protestant theologian and medical practitioners , in 1977 together with his wife Anneliese Dittmer in Goettingen the Publisher Edition Dittmer . The edition, which soon moved to Scheden , initially appeared under the two names Dittmer Publications and Dionysos Press . Over time, the name Verlagsedition Dittmer established itself .

A joint initiative with the University of North Carolina in Pembroke led to the publication of the bilingual literary magazine Katapult from 1977 . At the end of the 1970s, Hans Otfried and Anneliese Dittmer worked ever more closely with Gauke-Verlag , to which they completely handed over their publishing program in 1980. The Gauke-Verlag maintained the Dittmer program for about a decade until it turned exclusively to topics of social economy . Dittmer has reflected on his experiences as a literary publisher in his satirical book Litortur .

After handing over his original literary program to Gauke-Verlag, Hans Otfried and Anneliese Dittmer continued their edition, which from then on was mainly devoted to questions of alternative medicine and appeared as a D-ReSearch private publisher , whereby the terms Dittmer publications and Dittmer publishing edition continued to be used become. The publishing house has been based in the Wesertal municipality since the 1980s . From 2010 the publishing house was temporarily completely relocated to Chattanooga (Tennessee, USA).

Program, authors and development

Hans Otfried Dittmer, who himself worked as a literary writer under the name of Hans O. Hermann, was able to bring together a number of people who were prominent in the alternative scene at the end of the 1970s and win them over as authors for his publishing house. Some of them were to become more popular in the future. Among them were the writer Hadayatullah Hübsch , who was exposed as a Muslim , Lama Anagarika Govinda's student at the time and later philosopher Volker Zotz and Ingo Cesaro , of whom Günter Grass said he was “one of the few creative lunatics we depend on among so many Ordinary citizens. ”Other authors at Dittmer were Wolfgang Graf von Lüttichau , Hans Horn, Klaus Bernarding , Jürgen Völkert-Marten , Wolfgang Fienhold , Carl Heinz Kurz and Quirin Engasser .

After Dittmer had handed over his literary program to Gauke-Verlag, many of the authors mentioned switched to other publishers. Volker Zotz published one of his books on Buddhism with Gauke and had his subsequent works mostly published by Rowohlt Verlag . As a result, Wolfgang Fienhold mostly published in Eichborn Verlag . Hans O. Dittmer published his research on radionics and bioresonance therapy as self-publications .

The publisher also operates a large number of static and interactive websites for health education about nutritional values, laboratory parameters (e.g. blood values), health tests and more.
