Ingo Cesaro
Ingo Cesaro (born November 4, 1941 in Kronach , Upper Franconia ) is a German writer . He publishes three-line texts in syllable format 5-7-5 in his own publishing house and with his own book printer. He lives in his birthplace Kronach.
Life
Ingo Cesaro lived in Kronach until 1960, attended elementary school there and then trained as an industrial clerk for three years. From 1960 he worked as an export merchant and then as an administrative manager in an American company. He attended evening school and then studied two semesters at the Academy for World Trade in Frankfurt. From 1975 he was back in Kronach as head of administration. When Hans Otfried Dittmer brought together a number of prominent figures in the alternative scene at the time, such as Wolfgang Fienhold and Volker Zotz , and won them over for his Dittmer publishing edition , Ingo Cesaro was also one of his authors. From 1982 to 1984 Cesaro was trained as a practical business economist. Since 1989 he has been working as a freelance writer, journalist and cultural manager.
Focus of work
Ingo Cesaro's collaboration with painters and graphic artists resulted in bibliophile editions, artist books, graphic-text folders, graphic-text calendars, single-sheet prints and exhibition projects. Together with composers and musicians, he runs projects such as jazz & texts , minimal music & three- liner , danced poems and saxophone & poetry .
He uses the only mobile hand press , as it was known from Gutenberg's time, in German-speaking countries. He runs literature workshops mainly with schoolchildren, young people, disabled people (also integrated projects) and adults. In addition to the writing workshop, he has an ancient typesetting and printing workshop. Since his hand press is mobile, all results are created on the go, there is no workshop in Kronach. The cooperation is very differentiated, especially with schools and educational institutions. He is constantly on the move with the old hand press to work and project groups that he initiates or organizes. In workshops, poems are created that are immediately set and printed.
As a writer, Cesaro devotes himself above all to poetry and especially to short poems in the three-line syllable format 5-7-5. The bibliophile editions of his literature, as they are often co-designed by artists, also serve as a supraregional promotion of art. In his hometown of Kronach, Cesaro, who himself organized and staged countless art and literature events there, is considered a critical mind.
Cultural projects
For over thirty years Cesaro has been organizing exhibition projects in Kronach and beyond, e.g. B. with Caspar Walter Rauh , Christoph Meckel , Günter Grass (October 2007: Dummer August with lithographs for the poetry book Dummer August and When peeling the onion ). In the meantime he has organized the 15th exhibition of graphic works by Günter Grass, mainly in southern Germany, but also in Wolfsburg.

- On the occasion of the millennium celebration (2003), Cesaro organized a thousand poems for his place of birth and residence in Kronach by authors from all over the German-speaking area, which could be read across the entire city. The local media said “The banks of the Haßlach in the millennial Kronach are adorned with it, as are its alleys and squares; and the stairs to the fortress have turned into a veritable literary mile. ”Ingo Cesaro received almost 3,500 haiku poems from over 30 countries around the world by post and via the Internet. Cesaro also received texts for the thousand year spectacle (Hukuko Kawasaki, Osaka) from the country of origin of the haiku, Japan.
- In December 2018 Cesaro carried out the literature project "Living Democracy" for high schools and secondary schools. In the same year he initiated the "mail art project 2019" for Schwabach and the "scarecrow competition" with the 14th Mitwitz artist market.
