Viehaus is a village in the Upper Austrian municipality of Gampern in the Vöcklabruck district .

geography

The village is located around one kilometer southwest of the main town, around four kilometers northwest of the village of Seewalchen and around 3.5 to four kilometers north of the Attersee . Viehaus is one of the southernmost villages in the municipality of Gampern and is located around 250 meters north of the municipality border with the municipality of Seewalchen am Attersee. Immediately to the northwest of the village is the Rotte Stötten . Viehaus is located at around 556  m above sea level. A. and extends almost 400 meters in a north-south direction and almost 450 meters in an east-west direction. A residential building is located around 800 meters east of the town center and can only be reached from the town via a dirt road. The village is located in a hilly, open, mainly agricultural landscape and belongs to the spatial unit Vöckla-Ager-Hügelland in the Alpine foothills .

history

Viehaus is first mentioned in 1371 as Viechausen (settlement where cattle are kept). In 1787 the village is called a cattle house . In the Josephine Lagebuch from 1788, a status of twelve buildings is documented. Hereditary lines can be traced back to the early 18th century. There were several fires in the village, in 1721 the entire village burned down, in 1987 an entire farm. In the years 1885 and 2000, the village was affected by severe hail storms.

The village is characterized by numerous farms, so today there are five farms in the village.

Infrastructure

Viehaus can now be reached via goods routes from the community capital Gampern, Genstetten and, since the 2000s, from the neighboring village of Piesdorf. Several recreational hiking and cycling trails lead through the village.
