Viktor Sandberger , from 1902 by Sandberger (born April 10, 1835 in Benzenzimmern / Ostwürttemberg , † May 12, 1912 in Stuttgart ), was a German theologian and president of the consistory of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg .

Life and work

From 1860 von Sandberger was a repetitionist . In 1864 he became a deacon in Herrenberg and in 1872 in Tübingen . There he took over the position of district school inspector and garrison pastor in 1875 . In 1885 von Sandberger was appointed dean in Tübingen and from 1890 became prelate and general superintendent in Heilbronn . From 1895 to 1905 he was general superintendent in Reutlingen . At that time he was also an extraordinary member of the Württemberg consistory, whose president he became in 1905 after Wilhelm Freiherr von Gemmingen had retired. He was thus one of the highest representatives of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg. In 1910 he retired as President of the Consistory and was awarded the title of Excellence.

Von Sandberger was also a member of the Württemberg regional synod several times . In the 4th Synod he was a spiritual member of the Synodal Committee from 1892. During the V. and VI. Synod he was chairman of the canon law commission in 1897 and 1900 respectively.

As General Superintendent of Heilbronn and Reutlingen, Viktor von Sandberger was also a member of the Württemberg Chamber of Deputies . From 1906, the office of President of the Württemberg Consistory was linked to a mandate in the First Chamber of the Württemberg State Estates.
