Vinaders is a group in the municipality of Gries am Brenner in Tyrol . The place is at the entrance of the Obernberg valley on both sides of the Seebach at an altitude of 1269 m above sea level. A.
Vinaders is older than the municipality capital Gries, it is first mentioned in a document in 1253. The first settlement was probably founded in pre-Roman times on the route over the Brenner Pass , which has always been well traveled , as the presumably pre-Roman name suggests. In the Middle Ages the area served Matreier population as a mountain pasture and was subordinate to the Market Court Matrei.
The St. The church consecrated to Leonhard was probably built before 1000 as a pilgrimage church for Roma travelers. Vinaders was the first place in the Wipptal to become independent from the original parish of Matrei am Brenner , it became a chaplain in 1498 and a curate around 1550 , to which the places in the Wipptal from Stafflach to the Brennersee and in the Obernbergtal belonged.
Vinaders originally formed a Riegat, the smallest administrative unit, which was combined with the Riegaten Nösslach and Ritten to form the municipality of Gries in 1811.
