Vincent Bachet (born April 29, 1978 in Saint-Maurice-le-Girard ) is a former French ice hockey player who was under contract with HC Amiens Somme from 2002 to 2014 .

Career

Vincent Bachet began his career as a hockey player at Hockey Club de Reims , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Ligue Magnus , the top French division, in the 1996/97 season . In his rookie year , he scored five goals in 38 games and provided two assists. The following season the defender spent with the Des Moines Buccaneers in the North American junior league United States Hockey League , before he ran up from 1998 to 2000 for the Hockey Club de Caen in his French homeland. He then returned to Reims, where he took part in the IIHF Continental Cup at European level in the 2000/01 season and became French champion for the first time the following year . Despite the championship title, the club had to stop playing at the end of the 2001/02 season for financial reasons and Bachet moved to HC Amiens Somme , with whom he was again champion in 2004. In Amiens, due to his many years of international experience, he was initially assistant captain from 2005 to 2007 and has since been team captain . On February 26, 2014, the official end of Bachet's career was announced.

International

For France , Bachet took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior B European Championship in 1996 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1996 , 1997 and 1998 . In the senior division, he competed for France at the B World Championships in 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2005 , 2006 and 2007 and the A World Championships in 2000 , 2004 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 . Furthermore, he was in his country's squad at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City as well as at the qualifying tournament for this and the qualification for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin . Bachet was France's assistant captain several times at world championships. Overall, he played in his home country's senior squad from 1999 to 2013.
