Vincent Gérard (born December 16, 1986 in Woippy ) is a French handball goalkeeper .

The 1.89 m tall and 104 kg right-handed man spent a lot of time in sports halls as a child of two handball players and started working for the French club SMEC Metz . In 2006 he was committed to Montpellier AHB , with whom he won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2006/07 and the championship , the Coupe de la Ligue and the Coupe de France in 2007/08 . In the EHF Champions League 2006/07 he reached the second round. After two years he moved to Istres Ouest Provence HB , where he again triumphed in the League Cup in 2008/09 and reached the fourth round in the 2009/10 EHF Cup . From 2010 he ran for Dunkerque HBGL . In 2010/11 he won the Coupe de France, 2012/13 the League Cup and the Supercup. That season he was also voted LNH's best goalkeeper. With Dunkerque he reached the group stage in the EHF Champions League 2013/14 . In 2014 he became French champion for the second time. In summer 2015 he returned to Montpellier. With Montpellier he won the League Cup and the Coupe de France in 2016 and the EHF Champions League in 2018 . For the 2019/20 season he moved to Paris Saint-Germain . With Paris he won the French championship in 2020.

Gérard made his debut in the French national team on April 6, 2013 against Norway . At the 2014 European Championship he won the gold medal, but was replaced by Thierry Omeyer in the preliminary round after three games . He won the silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . In 2017 he won the World Cup with France. He was also accepted as the tournament's best goalkeeper in the All-Star Team. He did the same at the 2018 European Championships , where his team finished third. He won the bronze medal at the 2019 World Cup . So far, he has played 94 international matches .
