Vittoria (wine)
Under the name Vittoria DOC , white and red wines are produced in the free municipal consortia of Ragusa , Caltanissetta and Catania in Sicily . Since 2005 the wines have had a "controlled designation of origin " (Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC ), which was last updated on March 7, 2014.
Cultivation
Cultivation and production are limited to the following communities:
- Outdoor Municipal Consortium Ragusa: Vittoria , Comiso , Acate , Chiaramonte Gulfi , Santa Croce Camerina and parts of the municipality of Ragusa
- outdoor community consortium Caltanissetta: Niscemi , Gela , Riesi , Butera and Mazzarino
- outdoor parish consortium of Catania: Caltagirone , Licodia Eubea and Mazzarrone .

The denomination enables the production of blended wines and almost single-origin wines.
The blends and their grape varieties are:
- Vittoria Rosso : must consist of at least 50–70% Nero d'Avola and 30–50% Frappato (individually or together).
- Vittoria Novello : must consist of at least 80% Nero d'Avola and / or Frappato (individually or together). The remaining percent may be other red grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Sicily region.
