Licodia Eubea is a city in the metropolitan city of Catania in the region of Sicily in Italy with 3005 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Licodia Eubea is 68 kilometers southwest of Catania . The inhabitants live mainly from agriculture and animal husbandry.

The neighboring municipalities are Caltagirone , Chiaramonte Gulfi ( RG ), Giarratana (RG), Grammichele , Mazzarrone , Mineo , Monterosso Almo (RG) and Vizzini .

history

As early as 650 BC A settlement was established here. In the 12th century the castle around which the community developed was built. In 1693 the place was badly damaged by an earthquake . Licodia Eubea was rebuilt in the same place.
