Aci Bonaccorsi is a town and municipality in the metropolitan city of Catania in the Sicily region in Italy with 3542 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).
Location and dates
Aci Bonaccorsi is 16 km north of Catania on the southern slope of Mount Etna . The inhabitants work mainly in agriculture and in industrial plants in Catania.
The neighboring municipalities are Aci Sant'Antonio , San Giovanni la Punta , Valverde and Viagrande .
history
Aci Bonaccorsi was founded in 1169 as a feudal village. It belonged to different sexes, including the Bonaccorsi, the namesake.
Attractions
The church della Consolazione was built in the 12th century, the apse is still the original from the 12th century. Inside are frescoes from the 18th century.
