Raddusa is a city in the metropolitan city of Catania in the region of Sicily in Italy with 2979 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Raddusa is 62 km west of Catania . The residents mainly work in agriculture. There are also gypsum pits , sulfur springs and salt springs .

The neighboring municipalities are Aidone , Assoro , Piazza Armerina and Ramacca .

history

The municipality of Raddusa was dependent on the neighboring municipality of Ramacca until 1861.

Due to the high unemployment, many residents of Raddusa emigrated. Until the Second World War , the inhabitants of Raddusa emigrated mainly to North and South America. From 1950 onwards there was a great wave of emigration to Germany and France.
