Rodenkirchen Bailiwick
The Vogtei Rodenkirchen was an administrative unit belonging to Oldenburg . It existed until 1811.
scope
The Rodenkirchen Bailiwick covers the center of the city area. The bailiwick is bounded in the east by the Weser . Here, near Havendorfersand, larger areas of arable land were obtained by dike . In the south there is the Vogtei Golzwarden and in the west the Vogtei Schwei , to the north in Butjadingen there is the Vogtei Abbehausen . The Vogtei Rodenkirchen consisted of two parishes . Rodenkirchen with the farmers Absen , Alse , Alserwurp , Beckum , Hartwarden , Hakendorferwurp, Rodenkirchen , Rodenkircherwurp and Sürwürden as well as the parish Esenshamm with the farmers Enjebuhr, Esenshamm, Esenshammergroden and Havendorf.
Infrastructure
In 1800 there was a church and two pastors in Rodenkirchen. The school was housed in a sexton's. There was a school in Esensham whose headmaster was both sexton and organist . School classes in Hartwarden were held in a private home.
economy
There were two windmills around 1800 , the Warpmühle near Hahnenknoop and a windmill between Strohhausen and Hartwarden.
The following professions are known for the bailiwick in 1800: 2 bakers , 9 coopers, 2 turners , 5 cooper , a glazier, 12 boat drivers, 15 merchants , a button maker, 14 innkeepers , a painter , a bricklayer , a carpenter and a saddler , 3 butchers , 6 blacksmiths , 26 tailors , 24 shoemakers, 4 white tanners , 18 weavers and 14 carpenters . There was also a surgeon .
