Location of Absen in Lower Saxony

Absen is a district of Rodenkirchen in the municipality of Stadland in the Wesermarsch district . It is divided into two peasant communities (I and II).

geography

Absen is located in the immediate vicinity of the east running Weser , it lies on the bank of the river and is therefore part of the historic Stadland. The Strohauser Plate is in front of Absen . South of the village is the Wurtendorf Alse , north of Hartwarden .

history

Due to its location on the banks of the Weser and the existence of Wurten in the village, it can be assumed that the settlement area was inhabited early on. In comparable Wurten in the area such as Rodenkirchen, a first settlement could be proven 2000 years ago. In Absen, a medieval vaulted cellar was uncovered during the demolition of a farmhouse from 1652 . The first school was mentioned in 1633. In 1655 the name " Klippschule " appears for the secondary school . As early as 1662, however, there was no longer any evidence of their existence. For the year 1728 is Abser Bauer letter handed, he was made to replace a lost old rural letter. In Absersiel there was a lime distillery with an attached chalk factory.
