Location of Havendorfer Sand in Lower Saxony

Havendorfer Sand (also Havendorfersand) was a district ( peasantry ) of the municipality of Stadland . The villages or farms of Ruschsand, Bakensand, Flügeldeich, Neu-Havendorfersand (diked in 1746), Alt-Havendorfersand ( diked in 1556), Kleinensiel , Alttreuenfeld, Greenland and Yellow Gate belonged to the farming community Havendorfer Sand .

geography

Havendorfer Sand consists of two dikes : New and Old Havendorfersand. It lies west of today's Weser before Kleinensiel.

history

There is an exact description of Alt-Havendorfersand from 1417, on the occasion of a transfer to the bailiff of Friedeburg . Havendorfer Sand was connected to the mainland by a dike in the period between 1555 and 1560 by Count Anton I of Oldenburg. Anton I apparently controlled the land directly, and it is said that in 1562 he had hay mowed there. The count later had a farm built there, which had to deliver to him, among other things, for slaughter, as has been handed down for 1576. Around 1730 the estate belonged to Duke Karl Friedrich von Württemberg-Oels and his wife Sophie, who was born as a Countess of Lippe-Alverdissen . In 1741 the Baron von Vrintz bought the estate.

The part of Gut Havendorfer Sand, which lay in the north, was later sold to Hergen Tantzen, who gave the country the name Greenland . This land later became the land of Gut Alt-Treuenfeld . Count Anton II of Oldenburg-Delmenhorst were given to Havendorfersand and Roddensen for usufruct . In front of the old Havendorfer Sand , outside the dike, a groden , the so-called Neu-Havendorfersand, was built, which was diked in 1746. Ruschsand and Bakensand were first mentioned in 1714. At Yellow Gate is a small Weserarm who was silted up, continued to grow and was leased.

Administrative history

Havendorfer Sand was formerly a farming community in Esenshamm , and since 1873 it has been part of the Havendorf farming community. From 1933 to 1948 it belonged to the Abbehausen community . In 1948 the Havendorfer Sand farming community was renamed Kleinensiel.
