Vox Bona (lat .: "good voice"), the chamber choir of the Kreuzkirche Bonn , is a mixed choir with around 45 members from the Cologne-Bonn area.

Activity, history, repertoire

One focus of the concert activities are baroque oratorios and cantatas in collaboration with orchestras such as Concerto Köln , Neue Düsseldorfer Hofmusik, l'arte del mondo and Concerto con Anima. The choir regularly takes part in international competitions and takes part in radio productions.

In 1990 the church music director Karin Freist-Wissing took over the leadership of the chamber choir . The repertoire includes medieval Easter singing plays, staged performances of baroque oratorios, radio play productions and a cappella literature from all eras.

Karin Freist-Wissing studied church music and orchestral conducting at the Detmold University of Music . Since 1990 she has led the choir and orchestral work at the Bonn Kreuzkirche , the largest Protestant church in the Rhineland. She regularly performs major oratorios from various eras and conducts symphonic orchestral concerts. She focuses on interdisciplinary musical projects in collaboration with art, theater, dance and drama.

  • 2010: 2nd prize, 8th German Choir Competition and special prize for the most innovative and exciting competition program
  • 2012: 1st prize in each of the XII. Concorso Corale Internazionale Riva del Garda in the categories “Mixed Choirs with Compulsory Piece” and “Sacred Music” as well as “Gran Premio” (1st prize of the category winners), also audience award
  • 2016: 1st prize contemporary choral music, level 1, 2nd prize secular romanticism, level 1 choir competition of the German Choir Festival Stuttgart 2016
