The class F 1c of the Royal Württemberg State Railways comprised six triple-coupled freight train steam locomotives that were built in 1893 by the Esslingen machine factory.

What was striking about these machines with a de Glehn engine was the five-meter wheelbase. The front and rear axles were also connected to the frame and to each other in such a way that they could be adjusted to the curve radius traveled by means of the Klose steering mechanism . The choice fell on this complicated engine because too large fixed axles make the curve more difficult and lead to high wear, short axles do not allow high speeds and the five-fold coupled class G had been in use successfully since 1892.

The locomotives had Belpaire type boilers , and the grate was made up of three fields.

The dimensions of the cylinders corresponded to those of class Fc , the wheel diameter was 1380 mm and the boiler pressure 14 bar. The maximum speed was set at 60 km / h and thus significantly higher than that of classes F 2 and Fc.

A similar design with simple steam expansion was classified as class F 1 . Despite good running properties, the Klose types were no longer procured due to high maintenance costs; instead, class Fc locomotives were built again from 1896.

Three copies were to be taken over by the Reichsbahn , two were to be given the numbers 53 8451 and 53 8452. Nothing is known about the number of the third machine. But they were retired before 1925.

The vehicles had type 2 T tenders .
