As the series Ts 3 of the Royal Württemberg State Railways , two different vehicles were used on the first narrow-gauge line in Württemberg between Altensteig and Nagold .

Type Krauss

The first was a former Krauss locomotive that had been used to build the railway. It was similar to the locomotives from the same manufacturer used on the Feldabahn ( Prussian T 31 ). In 1900 it was taken over by the company and was given the number 10. It was retired in 1913.

The second machine was a bargain purchase. It had been ordered by the Württembergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (WEG) for the Gaildorf – Untergröningen railway line (No. 4 s ), but it was not needed there, as it was designed to be standard gauge contrary to initial plans. In 1904 it was sold brand new to the Württemberg State Railroad and was given the number 9.

It was largely similar to the T 3 from Prussia . Since the route ran largely parallel to roads, the engine was covered to protect it from dirt.

After the establishment of the Reichsbahn , the machine was taken over. There it was given the number 99 121 . From 1927 the locomotive was only used as a reserve machine. In 1930 it was then retired. The machines carried 3.0 m³ of water and 1.2 tons of coal .

One of the sister machines ( No. 2 s ) that remained with WEG has been preserved and was in the Marxzell Vehicle Museum . It has been owned by the Ulm Railway Friends since 2002 and is located in Amstetten.
