WFV Cup 1988/89

The WFV-Pokal 1987/88 was the 35th staging of the men's cup competition in Württemberg amateur football. The defending champion was TSG Giengen, a club at the time . In the final on May 19, 1988 in Nürtingen , SSV Reutlingen 05 won the title in the state cup for the first time with a 4-2 final victory in a duel between two upper division clubs over VfL Kirchheim / Teck .

Both finalists qualified for the 1988/89 DFB Cup when they played in the final . While the Reutlingen Cup winners, trained by Lorenz-Günther Köstner , were only eliminated in the second round with a 3-1 home defeat against the second division Rot-Weiss Essen after a 2-1 first-round success against Hamborn 07 , VfL Kirchheim / Teck missed with a 1 : 2 home defeat against the Hessian fourth division club SV Wehen to advance to the second round.
