Wadltreiber (bourgeois Dominik Amadeus Leitold , born December 17, 1990 in Zell am See ) is an Austrian musician , lyricist and composer .

Leitold is the son of Birgit (née Breitfuss) and Hubert Leitold. He grew up with his younger sister Sabrina in Viehhofen Glemmtal near Saalbach-Hinterglemm . At the age of 4, Leitold took trumpet lessons from his father. Two years later he learned the Styrian harmonica from Anton Mooslechner junior. (also known as "Leitn Toni") at the Musikum Zell am See. He started playing the electric guitar at the age of 14 .

At the age of 15, Leitold completed an apprenticeship as an electrical installation technician in Bruck an der Großglocknerstrasse , which he completed in 2010. During his training he founded numerous bands , but they kept breaking up. During his military service in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer , he began to deepen his text poetry and compositions and returned to the Styrian harmonica.

In 2012 Leitold founded the music project “Wadltreiber” with a focus on pop folk music and alpine rock , with which he performed as a pre-artist from 2014 to 2017 with musicians such as Andreas Gabalier , Beatrice Egli , Voxxclub , Schürzenjäger , Ursprung Buam .

In 2019 he founded the Wadltreiber by Amadeus project .

In 2013 Leitold published his first solo album , which was produced by Harald Rummel and was released on the Tyrolis label under the name Da Wald-Madltreiber .

In 2018 followed the second album Edelweisspirat , which Leitold had produced by the drummer of the Schürzenjäger Alfred Eberharter Jun. In Finkenberg Zillertal and has since distributed it via the Viennese music publisher Preiser Records .
