The constituency of Leipzig, Land I was a state electoral district for the state election in Saxony in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Saxony. It had constituency number 13. For the state elections in 1994 , the constituency structure was changed as a result of the district reform, and the number of constituencies was reduced from 80 to 60. The area of the electoral district of Leipzig, Land I was also distributed to several constituencies as a result of incorporation into Leipzig and area changes, including the constituencies of Leipziger Land 2 and 3 .
The constituency comprised the following communities and cities in the Leipzig-Land district , which were mainly in the north and east of the district: Althen , Baalsdorf , Borsdorf , Dölzig , Engelsdorf , Göbschelwitz , Großpösna , Hohenheida , Holzhausen , Kleinpösna , Kursdorf , Liebertwolkwitz , Lindenthal , Lützschena , Merkwitz , Mölkau , Panitzsch , Plaußig , Podelwitz , Pönitz , Schkeuditz , Seehausen , Stahmeln , Taucha and Wiederitzsch.
