Wallhöfe is a residential area in the Garsedow district of the city of Wittenberge in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is seven hundred meters east of Garsedow and a good two kilometers east-southeast of Wittenberge. He is surrounded by the FFH area Elbdeichvorland, the bird sanctuary Lower Elbe Valley, the nature reserve Wittenberge-Rühstädter Labe region, the Biosphere Reserve Riverine Landscape Elbe and the conservation area Brandenburg Elbe Valley.

The Karthane flows about two hundred meters north of the village and expands here to the rayon port and Lake Karthane; an approx. 36 hectare fishing water and inland port of Wittenberge. To the east is the neighboring district of Lütjenheide and the associated Berghöfe residential area . Three hundred meters southwest of the village there is an approximately 6.8 hectare oxbow lake called the Gelber Haken.

history

Today's Wallhöfe was recorded in the measuring table sheet “ 1542 Wittenberge” from the Prussian first recording as an establishment with the name “Bauerhöfe” from 1843 . In the 1873 edition of the aforementioned map, the place can be found under the name "Farms".

Before July 25, 1952, the then district of Garsedow belonged to the Westprignitz district and from that date to the Perleberg district . When it was incorporated into Wittenberge, Wallhöfe became a place to live in the Garsedow district on October 20, 1971.
