Zwischenendeich is a district of the city of Wittenberge in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is one kilometer northeast of the Elbe , four kilometers southeast of Wittenberge and nine kilometers north-northeast of the Hanseatic city of Seehausen (Altmark) . He is surrounded by the FFH area Elbdeichvorland, the bird sanctuary Lower Elbe Valley, the nature reserve Wittenberge-Rühstädter Labe region, the Biosphere Reserve Riverine Landscape Elbe and the conservation area Brandenburg Elbe Valley.

Neighboring towns in the north are Garsedow , including the Wallhöfe and Lütjenheide residential area there with the associated Berghöfe residential area , Hinzdorf in the east, Schadebeuster in the south, and Losenrade beyond the Elbe and the national border in the west.

In 1375, Zwischenendeich was first mentioned in writing using the spelling shower dike and tusch dike . In 1506 there are documents with the place name tuschen Dykes . For 1640 it is documented that the place was churched after "Groß Beuster". In 1720 there were 5 kossas, 1 hofner, 1 shepherd without cattle and 1 hoof of 23 groschen. In 1734 there were 5 cottagers, 1 farmer, 1 granny and old sitter, 1 shepherd and 138 bushels of seed. In 1745 the village had 6 cottages and in 1746 it had 5 cottages, 1 hoofner, 1 shepherd without cattle and 1 hoof. In 1789 there were 6 cottages and 7 fireplaces here.

In 1800 Zwischenendeich (partly recorded as Zwischenendiek ) was part of the Wische , belonged to the Seehausenschen district in the province of Altmark of the Mark Brandenburg and its inhabitants were parish in the church of "Große Beuster" of the Seehausen inspection at that time. For 1801 there were 1 farmer, 5 whole cottages, 7 fireplaces and 138 bushels of sowing recorded here. In 1804 the village on the east side of the Elbe belonged to the "widowed Deichhaupmännin von Jeetze zu Losenrade" and had a total of 138 bushels of sowing, seven fireplaces and 55 residents; including a farmer and five “whole kossers”. The address at that time was Wittenberge. In 1806 the affiliation to the St. Nikolaikirche in Beuster ended, as did the burial of the dead in the associated churchyard.

In 1816 the place became part of the Westprignitz district . For 1817 it is documented that the intermediate dike to Wittenberge was built and for 1819 1 Hüfner, 5 Kossaten, 1 cowherd and 1 Hufe are mentioned. In 1846 there were a total of 11 houses here. In a description from the year 1852, Zwischenendeich is described as a village in the lowlands with good soil for meadows and the main food is arable farming. In addition, it is determined that there are no mineral products, no secondary occupations and no forest, a single-field economy, two- and single-pit meadows, fishing on the Elbe through the Gut Eickhof as well as herding in summer for and cattle breeding with cattle and horses for their own economic needs . In 1860 there was a public, 11 residential and 9 farm buildings here.

In 1900 the village was a municipality and included 5 houses. In 1931 it became an independent parish, which at that time was churched in Klein Lüben, there were 7 houses here. Belonging to the Westprignitz district from 1939, there were a total of 7 agricultural and forestry operations here this year. Including 3 with 20 to 100 hectares, 3 with 5 to 10 hectares and 1 with 0.5 to 5 hectares and a total of 18 professionals. The community of Zwischenendeich became part of the Perleberg district in the Schwerin district in 1952 and was incorporated into the Hinzdorf community in 1957. In 1960 there was a type I LPG called "Wiesental", which had 8 members and 102.74 hectares of agricultural land. In 1964, Zwischenendeich was still a district of Hinzdorf. In 1969 the LPG in Zwischenendeich was connected to the LPG "Unity" in Gulow . In 1971, Zwischenendeich was incorporated into Wittenberge together with the then Hinzdorf community. Since 1993 the place belongs to the district of Prignitz.
