Hinzdorf is a district of the city of Wittenberge in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is a good five kilometers southeast of Wittenberge directly on the right bank of the Elbe . He is surrounded by the FFH area Elbdeichvorland, the bird sanctuary Lower Elbe Valley, the nature reserve Wittenberge-Rühstädter Labe region, the Biosphere Reserve Riverine Landscape Elbe and the conservation area Brandenburg Elbe Valley.

The district is bounded in the north by the Karthane and the municipality of Breese beyond . In the east the area borders on Klein Lüben and the associated residential area Scharleuk . The Elbe flows south and forms the border with Beuster in Saxony-Anhalt . In the west, Schadebeuster and Zwischendeich are the neighboring towns.

history

The place is first mentioned in writing in 1454, then in the spelling Hinrickstorpp . In 1490 the place is recorded in documents under the name Hinrickstorp and in 1542 under Heinrichsdorff .

In 1946 the place belonged to the district of Westprignitz in the newly founded state of Brandenburg and had 174 inhabitants. On July 25, 1952, the former community came to the newly created Perleberg district and on October 20, 1971, became a district of the city of Wittenberge. From May 17, 1990 the previous district continued to exist as the district of Perleberg and on December 6, 1993 it became part of today's district of Prignitz. In 2006 the place had 99 inhabitants.
