Walter Jahnke

Walter Jahnke (born February 18, 1914 in Wolgast , Greifswald district ; † August 13, 1988 in Wuppertal ) was a German politician, teacher , city ​​councilor in Wuppertal and member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Walter Jahnke went after his Abitur in 1932 on a reform school , the School of Teacher Education in Lauenburg and made his first and second teacher exam. He then worked as a teacher in the Lauenburg and Bütow districts . Jahnke passed the state examination for teaching at secondary schools and was a secondary school teacher in Wuppertal- Elberfeld from 1953 . He then became a lecturer at the Adult Education Center in Wuppertal and taught French and subjects related to political education .

He was a member of the SPD and district chairman in Wuppertal- Unterbarmen from 1953. He was a member of the education and science union from 1949 and from 1956 a city ​​councilor in Wuppertal. He was a member of the WDR Broadcasting Council and a member of the Rhineland Landscape Assembly since 1956.

Jahnke was a member of the Landtag in North Rhine-Westphalia from July 21, 1962 to July 25, 1970. He was directly elected in the 5th electoral term in constituency 053 Wuppertal I and in the 6th electoral term in constituency 056 Wuppertal I.

Honors

Walter Jahnke was awarded the ring of honor of the city of Wuppertal in 1974.
