Lists on the subject |
The Walther SP22 is a .22 lr sport pistol manufactured by Carl Walther .
It was specially developed for shooting sports with an emphasis on modular construction and an affordable purchase price. In doing so, it uses many possibilities of the competition regulations in its construction.
properties
Highly stressed parts such as B. the barrel are made of steel. It is located together with other system parts, for example the lock, in a closed aluminum housing that is completely removable. Two barrels of different lengths (4 "/ 6") can be converted as a change system. Less stressed parts are made of plastic. Overall, the SP22 has a low weight.
A special feature is the exchangeable handle of the pistol. It can be changed without any legal significance as it does not contain any mechanical parts. The pistol can be used to shoot with one hand with a sport pistol grip or with both hands with a "normal" pistol grip. The pistol grip is equally suitable for left and right-handers.
With interchangeable Picatinny rails on the top and bottom, many attachments can be attached to the weapon without any problems. Pistol telescopic sights and reflex sights can thus be attached to the upper Picatinny rail. For the lower Picatinny rail, a laser is available in a design that matches the pistol (purchase and possession are prohibited in Germany). The rear sight and front sight can be exchanged for a fiber optic sight. A silencer can be attached to reduce the shot noises.
The magazine holds ten cartridges and is inserted into the pistol from below through the handle. A five-shot magazine is available for special disciplines (ISSF).
The axis of the barrel is very low on this pistol. The distance between the top edge of the hand and the barrel axis is reduced to the minimum permissible dimension. These two factors result in less torque being generated when the shot is fired and thus less warping.
variants
Due to the modular structure of the weapon, any model variant can be converted into any other model. Any combinations are possible. The four models differ in a few essential points (see figure on the right). The effort involved in converting to another model is sometimes considerable and then requires manual skills.
