Bielefeld coat of arms trail

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wappenweg Bielefeld around the city with 88.8 km follows the borders of the city of Bielefeld as far as possible . He takes over the function of the old Schnatwege , on which the borders of a community were previously paced . At the same time, it should show the variety and diversity of the Bielefeld area. In its northern part it leads gently up and down through the Ravensberg hill country , crosses the Teutoburg Forest twice and runs in the southern part through the plain of the Senne. The marking symbolizes the coat of arms of the former County of Ravensberg - three rafters in a silver shield. The hike along the Wappenweg can be started and ended at any point along the path. The Teutoburg Forest Association is responsible for the Wappenweg .

The route passes the following local waypoints:

Wappenweg run

As a sporting event, the "Wappenweg-Ultralauf-Bielefeld" with the "WUB" over 100 km and the "Puddingthon" over 50 km takes place on one section of the Wappenweg.
