The Wittener Rundweg is a 57-kilometer circular hiking trail around the city of Witten . Since the route follows the Witten city limits, it also runs in sections in the neighboring cities of Wetter (Ruhr) , Sprockhövel , Hattingen , Bochum , Dortmund and Herdecke . The road signs are updated at regular intervals by the Dortmund-Ardey branch of the Sauerland Mountain Association .
