Wausau is a city in Washington County in the US state of Florida with 383 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Wausau is about 15 km south of Chipley and about 130 km west of Tallahassee .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 383 inhabitants were distributed over 153 households. The population density was 132.1 inh / km². 94.8% of the population identified themselves as whites, 0.8% as African American , 0.8% as Indians and 0.8% as Asian Americans . 0.3% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.6% to several ethnic groups. 1.6% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 38.1% of all households lived in 33.5% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 67.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.47 people and the average family size was 2.99 people.

28.7% of the population were younger than 20 years, 20.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 23.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 27.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 50.4% of the population were male and 49.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 33,375, with 13.5% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.
