geography
Caryville is on the east bank of the Choctawhatchee River . The city is about 25 km west of Chipley and about 150 km west of Tallahassee .
history
The railroad age in Caryville began in 1883 with the opening of the Pensacola and Atlantic Railroad . They created a continuous rail link between Pensacola and Jacksonville .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 411 inhabitants were distributed over 110 households. The population density was 52.7 inh / km². 62.0% of the population identified themselves as whites , 32.6% as African-Americans , 0.2% as Indians and 0.5% as Asian Americans . 4.6% said they belonged to several ethnic groups. 2.9% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
