The Weggentalbach is a 10.5 km long left tributary of the Neckar in Rottenburg am Neckar in the Tübingen district in Baden-Württemberg .

course

The Weggentalbach rises about one kilometer east of the village of Seebronn von Rottenburg. It initially flows west-southwest and crosses the village. Less than half a kilometer below, at the tributary of a small tributary that flows in this direction, it turns abruptly on the southeast run through a somewhat winding and not very deep valley, which is initially called the Hanfgraben and is then spanned by the federal road 28a . The stream then enters the valley section known as Eisental and then crosses the Remmingsheim suburb of Neustetten in the east, far from the settlement .

He changes to the urban area of Rottenburg and passes Eratskirchen a little west of these courtyards. Immediately afterwards begins the Rottenburger Weggental , after which the brook was named; the vineyards to the left of the stream and especially the baroque pilgrimage church to the Sorrowful Mother of God on the right side of a small loop in the valley make the Weggental a popular destination for excursions.

A few hundred meters behind the pilgrimage church, the brook reaches the city limits. It flows a short distance along Weggentalstrasse before it continues its way just before Eugen-Bolz-Platz at Rottenburger ZOB . It flows into the Neckar from the left and northwest in the underwater of the Tübinger Strasse power station .

From the source to the Verdolung , the Weggentalbach has an open stretch of approximately nine kilometers, to the mouth it is 10.5 km.
