Weier Bach is an area ( local district ) of Daun in the central Vulkaneifel in Vulkaneifel district in Rheinland-Pfalz .

The place is in the valley of the Lieser . The neighboring towns of Weiersbach are Gemünden in the north, Schalkenmehren in the east and Üdersdorf in the south . State road 46 runs through the village . Furthermore, the Wirschbach flows into the Lieser on the eastern edge of the village .

history

Until the end of the 18th century Weiersbach belonged to the electorate of Trier and was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Daun office . Weiersbach was assigned to the Üdersdorf center . Ecclesiastically Weiersbach belonged to the Archdiocese of Cologne .

In 1794 the Left Bank of the Rhine was occupied by French revolutionary troops in the First Coalition War. From 1798 to 1814 Weiersbach belonged to the canton of Daun in the Saardepartement .

At the Congress of Vienna (1815) the region came to the Kingdom of Prussia , Weiersbach was assigned to the newly established district of Daun in the administrative district of Trier in 1816 and administered by the mayor's office of Üdersdorf .

After the Second World War , the community of Weiersbach within the French occupation zone became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

On June 10, 1979, the previously independent community of Weiersbach, with 141 inhabitants at the time, was incorporated into the town of Daun.
