Christmas in the Family is a music album that GDR hit singer Frank Schöbel and his then partner Aurora Lacasa released in 1985 with their children Dominique and Odette. On October 10, 1994, the album, now also on CD, was released again.

Television broadcast

A television program of the same name was created for the record, which was broadcast on GDR television on December 24, 1985 . After the show's great success, other episodes were created in later years, as well as the CD Merry Christmas in Family in 1994 . Until 2019, Frank Schöbel hosted the program Merry Christmas with Frank on MDR television, which was broadcast on Christmas Eve .

The television broadcast from 1985 and excerpts from the following broadcasts from 1992 to 1995 appeared on DVD on November 2, 2007 under the title “The best of Christmas in the family”.

Christmas with the family is considered the best-selling Amiga sound carrier. A total of 1.4 million copies were sold by 2002. In 1988 the interpreters received the " Golden Amiga " award .
