history

Weikertsham Castle

The Hofmarkschloss Weikertsham was built in the middle of the 16th century by the Pallinger patrician family from Wasserburg, who owned it until 1614. At the beginning of the 17th century it was painted on the facade (probably by the Pittenharter family of painters).

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the place became part of the independent rural community of Bachmehring , which also included the districts of Berg , Dirneck , Kircheiselfing , Langwied , Langwiederberg and Straß . In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Weikertsham was incorporated into the municipality of Eiselfing in 1971 together with the entire municipality of Bachmehring . Seven years later, on May 1, 1978, the town was re-municipalityed to Wasserburg. At the end of the 1980s Weikertsham had 47 residents.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is established by several municipal roads, one of which leads over the street Am Aussichtsturm in a westerly direction to the St 2092 , about half a kilometer away , another leads over the Salzburger Strasse northwards to St 2092.
