The village of Kornberg is a district of the town of Wasserburg am Inn in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim .

geography

Kornberg is located about five kilometers southwest of Wasserburg and 50 kilometers east of Munich in the far west of the Chiemgau . It is at an altitude of about 500  m above sea level. NHN .

history

Due to the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the place became part of the independent rural community of Attel , which also includes the districts of Attlerau , Au , Edgarten , Elend , Gabersee , Gern , Heberthal , Kobl , Kroit , Limburg , Osterwies , Reisach , Reitmehring , Rottmoos , Seewies , Staudham and Viehhausen belonged. In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Kornberg was incorporated into the city of Wasserburg in 1978, together with most of the municipality of Attel. In 2012 Kornberg had 70 inhabitants.

The connection to the public road network is made by several municipal roads, which connect Kornberg, among other things, with the federal highway 15 , which passes 200 meters west of the town .
