The Gebrüder Anselmann wine and sparkling wine estate is a winery in Edesheim on the southern wine route in the Palatinate wine-growing region .
history
The Anselmann family was mentioned in a document as early as 1126 and has been growing wine for centuries.
The over 100 hectare winery owns shares of the vineyards Edesheimer Rosengarten, Edesheimer Mandelhang, Edesheimer Schloß, Edesheimer Forst, Edesheimer Ordensgut, Edenkobener Kirchberg, Edenkobener Schloß Ludwigshöhe, Rhodter Klosterpfad, Flemlinger Herrenbuckel, Flemlinger Vogelsprung, Flemlinger Bischof Rosenberg.
When it comes to grape varieties, white and red varieties are in balance. The white grape varieties include Riesling (share 13.5%), Müller-Thurgau 9.3%, Sauvignon Blanc 6.7 %, Pinot Gris 4.4%, Johanniter 3.2%, Pinot Blanc 2.9%, Kerner 2, 6%, Cabernet Blanc 2.5, Siegerrebe 2.0%, Silvaner 1.5%, Gewürztraminer 1.2%, Chardonnay 1.0%, Morio nutmeg 0.8%, Ortega 0.6%, Bacchus 0, 6%, Scheurebe 0.3% and Huxelrebe 0.1%. The red varieties include Dornfelder 12.6%, Cabernet Sauvignon 9%, Merlot 4.6%, Portuguese 4.6%, St. Laurent 3.5%, Pinot Noir 3.0%, Black Riesling 1.6%, Dunkelfelder 1 , 2%, Cabernet Mitos 1%, Lemberger 0.9%, Regent 0.8%, Cabernet Franc 0.5%, Syrah 0.4% and Heroldrebe 0.3%.
International significance
The Werner Anselmann winery has already been a wine partner for the "German Houses" several times during the Olympic Games. Anselmann was also the exclusive wine supplier for the "German House" at the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games in Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016.
