The Wiesbach is a nearly seven kilometer long stream in the eastern Hintertaunus , which flows north of the Usingen district of Kransberg in the Hessian Hochtaunuskreis from the right and south into the USA .

geography

course

The Wiesbach arises from several spring arms about two kilometers south of the Wehrheimer district Pfaffenwiesbach on the densely wooded northern slope of the Taunus ridge directly in the transition area to the eastern Hintertaunus to the north .

The main source load arises at a height of about 368  m above sea level. NN a small pond about seven hundred meters east of the Galgenberg ( 390.8  m above sea level ). About half a kilometer south-southwest is the source of the Bizzenbach and over a kilometer east-northeast is the Kapersburg Roman fort .

The Wiesbach initially flows through the Gewann Köppersborn in a north-northwest direction. It is bordered here on the left by a mixed forest and on the other by a coniferous forest. After about 250 meters, a small source branch flows into it from the left. Shortly thereafter, the Wiesbach forms a small pond. A little further down the stream, it is reinforced on its right side by an approximately 900 meter long arm of the spring, which comes from the southeast. The sole substrate of the Wiesbach consists of blocks, gravel and natural stones. After two more source brooks have run towards it on its left and right side, it changes its direction of flow to the northwest and runs through the mixed forest area Haubergsgrund . To the north-east of this is the Wehrholz forest .

The stream now runs north-northwest in the FFH area Haubergsgrund near Pfaffenwiesbach, first through the Auwiese , then through the Jürgelwiese . There are two small fish ponds on his left. Continues his way, now northward, through the hallway write meadow and then through the ground meadows at the eastern foot of planted with mixed forest Heßberges along the long north spur of Süßberg ( 389.3  m above sea level. NN ). Its floodplain is now widening noticeably. It now flows through grassland, accompanied by a down-to-earth gallery, past a small deciduous forest on the left and then reaches the southern edge of Pfaffenwiesbach. There, north of Friedrich-Ebert-Straße on his left side, he is fed by the almost two kilometer long Erlengraben coming from Binzelberg .

In the center of the village, the Wiesbach dips briefly into the ground and is strengthened on its right by the Pfingstborn Bach coming from the southeast . The Wiesbach leaves the village and flows right past the local sports field. He is now accompanied on his left by the district road K 728 , which is also called Kransberger Straße here . It now moves north-northwest lined with grassland on the left and deciduous forest on the right and passes the border of the Wehrheim district in the direction of Usingen. A little later, at the Wann Kuhhardsstein on his left, the Waschbach coming from the southwest falls to him .

The Wiesbach now flows northwards through the open corridor, then bends to the northwest and then runs through a narrow floodplain, directly along the east side of a small deciduous forest. On the other side, the floodplain is bounded by a mixed forest. The Wiesbach passes the Usingen district of Kransberg, on the northern edge of which the stream from the Rothwies flows into it from the left . The Wiesbach now runs, still accompanied by the K 728, through a narrow floodplain to the north-northwest, past a row of houses in the deciduous forest in Kirchhardt . On the right side the floodplain is bordered by a mixed forest.

The stream then bends to the northeast and finally flows north of the Herrenmühle at an altitude of about 219  m above sea level. NN from the south and turn right into the southwest by a Mäanderschlinge coming Usa . About thirty meters further northeast, the Holzbach also joins the same from the right.
