Viktor Vladimirovich Chrjapa ( Russian Виктор Владимирович Хряпа , born August 3, 1982 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Russian basketball player . The 2.06 m tall small forward has been playing for PBK ZSKA Moscow in the Russian PBL and Euroleague since spring 2008 . Since the World Cup in 2002 is the regular player of the Russian national team .
Club career
Chrjapa began his career in 1999 with the second team of BK Chimki in Superliga B, 1999-2002 he then played for Avtodor Saratow in the top division. Because of his way of playing as a clone of Kirilenko , the Russian record champions CSKA Moscow noticed him. After two successful seasons in Moscow, the NBA teams became aware of him; he was in 2004 by New Jersey Nets drafted but before the season to the Portland Trail Blazers passed. With the Blazers he was used quite often as a starter in two years, but was traded to the Chicago Bulls for the 2006/07 season . But where he was hardly used, so that in early 2008 he asked to terminate his contract and went back to the domestic league for ZSKA. With CSKA he won the Russian championship and the VTB United League several times in the following years . The greatest successes on the European level are winning the Euroleague in 2008 and two further finals in 2009 and 2012.
National team
After several unsuccessful years at international championships, Chjapa won the 2007 European basketball championship in Spain with the national team . After he was not part of the squad at the 2009 European Championships, he became a bronze medalist at the 2011 European Basketball Championship . Chrjapa participated in the 2008 Olympic Games and 2012 Olympic Games . In London, Chrjapa became a bronze medalist.
