Bryant kevin dunston jr. (Born May 28, 1986 in New York City , New York ) is an American - Armenian basketball player . After studying in his home country, Dunston began a career as a professional player, initially playing in the South Korean Korean Basketball League . From 2010 Dunston also played in Europe, where he came to Euroleague champion Olympiacos Piraeus in 2013 after stints in Greece , Israel and Italy . However, Piraeus missed the title defense in the highest-ranking European club competition, in which Dunston was named best defender of the ULEB Euroleague 2013/14 . Also in the Greek A1 Ethniki Olympiakos was only runner-up after losing the final series of the 2014 championship against defending champion Panathinaikos Athens.

Career

Dunston grew up in Queens , where he graduated from St. John's Preparatory School . He then got a place in 2004 at Fordham University , also in New York City . Here Dunston played for the university team Rams in the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) of the NCAA , in which his teammates included the later basketball Bundesliga player Jermaine Anderson and the German Sebastian Greene . Dunston won the award as "A-10 Freshman of the Year" in 2005 as well as being the first player in the Rams to be named one of the top five players in the Conference in the "A-10 First Team" in 2006. However, the Rams have been able to do so since Admission to the A-10 in 1995 did not achieve any particular success in their conference and so Dunston never took part in a national NCAA finals tournament during his college career . With 1,832 points and 993 rebounds , Dunston was the second-best scorer and fourth-best rebounder of the Rams at the end of his four-year college career in the team's "all-time list"; With 294 shot blocks , Dunston is the most successful player to ever play for the Rams in this category. In July 2014 Dunston was inducted into the "Athletic's Hall of Fame " of his college.

After Dunston had not been selected in the NBA Draft 2008 by any club in the highest endowed professional league NBA , he signed his first professional contract in 2008 with Mobis Phoebus from Ulsan in the Korean Basketball League . The team was able to improve from penultimate place in the previous season to first place in the regular season 2008/09, but in the play-off semi- final series for the title they lost to Seoul Samsung Thunder. In the following season one reached after the first place of the regular season also the final series, which one could win against the defending champion Jeonju KCC Egis. After two years in South Korea, Dunston moved to the Greek A1 Ethniki for Aris from Thessaloniki for the 2010/11 season . Before the end of the season, Dunston moved in February 2011 to Bnei hascharon from Herzlia in the highest Israeli division Ligat ha'Al . After finishing fourth in the regular season, however, the team was eliminated in the first play-off round for the title. For the 2011/12 season, Dunston moved to league competitor Hapoel from Cholon . The team reached the Final Four tournament to win the title in fifth place in the regular season , with defending champions and record champions Maccabi Tel Aviv clearly defeated in the semifinals . Dunston scored the most rebounds that season with an average of 9.4 per game and the highest effectiveness rating of any player in the Ligat ha'Al.

For the season 2012/13 Dunston got a contract in the top Italian division Lega Basket Serie A with the traditional club Pallacanestro Cimberio from Varese . Somewhat surprisingly, Varese was able to take first place after the regular season four years after the promotion, in which Dunston again achieved the highest effectiveness rating of all players. In the play-off semi-final series, however, the team lost in seven games against the defending champion and series champion Montepaschi Siena , against whom they had already lost the final in the cup competition "Coppa Italia" and in which, among others, Bobby Brown, a former teammate Dunstons at Aris Saloniki played a major role in the later successful defense of the Siena Doubles . After the season Dunston went back to the Greek A1 Ethniki to Olympiacos from Piraeus , who had successfully defended their title win in the highest European club competition ULEB Euroleague in the previous season. In the ULEB Euroleague 2013/14 , however, Olympiakos was eliminated this time in the quarter-final play-offs, although Dunston was named the best defender of the season. After losing the final in the national cup competition, the national championship title against defending champion and record champion Panathinaikos Athens , who were defeated in five games of the best-of-five series, could not be regained .
